Music is a wonderful leisure activity, keeps people off the streets, provides support for people in need and promotes cognitive and social development. More priority for music is needed. There is broad support in society for cultural education and in particular for more and better music education. The vast majority of parents find it important that their children come into contact with music at school. On the other hand, only a very small proportion of schools believe that their teachers are competent enough to teach music. Group teachers also do not always feel competent enough to give a quality music lesson. They often lack the confidence to sing for and with the class, for example.

Thanks to the development of a continuous music curriculum in primary education, Art4U provides all primary school children in their area of ​​work (and beyond) with high-quality music lessons given by professional music teachers during their entire “primary school career”. Er is groot draagvlak in de samenleving voor cultuureducatie en in het bijzonder voor meer en beter muziekonderwijs. Het overgrote deel van de ouders vindt het belangrijk dat hun kinderen op school in aanraking komen met muziek. Daar staat tegenover dat slechts een zeer beperkt deel van de scholen vindt dat hun leerkrachten deskundig genoeg zijn om muziekonderwijs te geven. Groepsleerkrachten voelen zichzelf ook niet altijd bekwaam genoeg om een kwaliteitsvolle muziekles te geven. Ze missen vaak het zelfvertrouwen om bijvoorbeeld te zingen voor en met de klas.
