The Pete's Corner Bigband was founded in 1990 and mainly consists of (HAFA) students and ex-students of Art4U. The age is from the age of 15 years.

In addition to the splendor of various local activities such as Cult & Tumult and Cityfest, a reputation has been built up over the years, both nationally and internationally. For example, Pete's Corner performed regularly during the Maasboulevard Feesten in Rotterdam and the Jazz Festival in Maidstone (GB). Tours were also made to Carquefou (F), Trier (D) and Jarocin (P). The band is a welcome guest at the Urban Jazz Festival in Echternach (L).

In addition to our own soloists such as our regular vocalist Nancy van Deursen, other famous soloists are also happy to be accompanied by the band: Ruud Breuls (solo trumpet player WDR Bigband), Rolf Delfos (the Houdini's), Paulien van Schaik (vocal teacher Tilburg Conservatory), Martijn Sohier (teacher trombone at the Conservatory in Amsterdam and trombonist with, among others, the Metropool Orchestra and the Concertgebouw Bigband) and Gerard van Maasakkers (vocals).

Pete's Corner, which has been under the inspiring leadership of Art4U since its inception and trumpeter Guus Dohmen, is not afraid of the more modern repertoire such as Latin, Funk and Rock, in addition to the traditional swing of Count Basie, Duke Ellington and Sammy Nestico.

Pete's Corner has the standard big band line-up: 5 saxes, 5 trumpets, 5 trombones, piano, bass guitar, drums, vocals. The occupation is currently complete, but registration is possible. If a spot becomes available, it will initially be filled by musicians who have previously registered.
