What is a horn?

The horn belongs to the brass wind instruments. It is actually a coiled copper tube. The tube length of a horn is almost 3 meters. The horn is known for its beautiful, warm sound. You can blare loudly or quietly as a whisper. It is truly an orchestral instrument and you will find it in brass bands, concert bands and symphony orchestras. The horn can also be heard more and more in jazz music. The horn is often prominent in film scores, especially in heroic pieces or romantic music.
There are many brands and types of horns in different price ranges. There are also special 'children's horns'. These are horns that are coiled smaller and that you can hold more easily if you are not that big yet. They sound the same as a regular, large horn.
